Filming wraps on RED AUGUST 2008
After a week of intense running, jumping, and climbing on rooftops and through the dark alleys of Brooklyn's finest industrial locations, filming on "Red" is completed! This last day was actually shot upstate, on the beautiful Manhattanville College campus. Compared to the physicality of the previous days' shoots, this final portion of filming was another day at school - even when the fire alarm lead to an unexpected evacuation...!

What an amazing experience - please check back for updates when the film goes online in a few weeks - I'll need your vote! :)

Many of you know that this a project that I've worked on with La'Mard Wingster and Demetrius Angelo for a while now, and we finished my final portion a few months ago. They really took care of me and put a lot of love into this series - much thanks and appreciation to them for all their hard work!

In preparation for RED JULY 2008
Recently cast in the lead role for a short film, "Red," that is one of 15 finalist entries for the online competition, The Doorpost (www.TheDoorpost.com). Starring Gbenga Akinnagbe (HBO's THE WIRE, THE SAVAGE'S), and directed by Shalini Kantayya (Finalist on Steven Spielberg's ON THE LOT, William D. Fulbright Scholar). Co-produced by JB Bruno and Seana Cavanagh.

Production & Art Designer Kelsey Hall took me to a chic salon where I had my hair cut & dyed. Transformation complete: I became Grace, aka Red! And so it begins...

Filming for THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT JULY 2008
This feature film is about an Asian mother and her two young children struggling against the odds in pursuit of the American Dream. The lead character, Elaine (Cindy Cheung) convinces my character, Susan, to buy into a pyramid scheme, of which my mother disapproves (the role played by the director's mom in real life, Ai Cheng!). Directed by Tze Chun (WINDOWBREAKER, Official Selection of 2007 Sundance Film Festival).www.tkaa-movie.com

The Devil walks among us, and SATAN HATES YOU JUNE 2008
First horror movie I've ever done, and it was SO much fun! SATAN HATES YOU is based on the Christian "scare" films of the 1950's - 70's, and follows the story of two characters whose sinful lifestyles are quickly leading them down the road to Hell. I played Kelly, the older, darker friend of one of the lead characters, Wendy (Christine Spencer). Produced by Larry Fessenden (Glass Eye Pix). Directed by James Felix McKenney (Monster Pants Movies). www.monsterpants.net/satan/

ESL: English as a Second Language APRIL 2008
This is a pilot due out on CUNY/PBS in Fall 2008. I play the character Lu in one of the episodes, a high school Chinese immigrant from - the Dominican Republic?? Directed by Luis Argueta.

UNKNOWN MELODY APRIL 2008
My character is Mei, a teenage violinist who is constantly fighting with her traditional Chinese mother. An unexpected revelation from her past forces her to examine who she is - and who she wants to be. Oh, and by the way, I hadn't played the violin since I was in middle school - many, many thanks to my friend Mike Simon for putting me in touch with his amazing mom, Fiona Simon of the NY Philharmonic. She was an incredible asset in helping me improve my violin playing - I couldn't have done it without her! And thanks to Director Camille Xin for having faith!

Screening for STILL FOR NOW may 2008
Every couple has their problems...Henry and Serota's just happens to have fur and run on all fours...! An awesome shoot full of all sorts of fun - beast makeup, running around in the woods, digging in garbage cans - good times! I am ever-grateful that my friend and fearsome Beast himself, Sebastian Guerriero, suggested I audition for this darkly beautiful film. Director Ning Li has quite the vision, and the crew's teamwork was magic. Screened at the Director's Guild of America as part of CityVisions 2008. www.stillfornow.com
